“The Backbone Europe has been one of the largest investments in the infrastructure of Anexia to date. With the integrated hardware refresh and capacity upgrade, we want to protect ourselves and our customers even better against DDoS attacks. The eco://award is a confirmation that the industry is also moving in the direction of increased network expansion. We are very pleased and would like to thank the jury and the eco Internet Association”, says Theo Voss, Head of Network & Infrastructure and project manager for the Backbone Europe after the award ceremony. He further says that the expansion is progressing: “Quite recently we connected three additional locations to the backbone in Vienna, and Amsterdam is currently being integrated. Further locations will follow.”

The Anexia Backbone Europe comprises over 10 locations, has a network capacity of over 2Tbit/sec and comes with an interconnection standard of 100G.
