The Backbone Europe has been one of the most important components of the Anexia infrastructure since 2017. It extends on several redundant routes from Vienna via Frankfurt to Amsterdam. As part of the upgrade, the hardware was modernized and the network capacities expanded to a maximum total bandwidth of 2 Tbps.
In addition to a high six-figure sum for the hardware upgrade, over 500 man-hours were also invested in the expansion.
Moritz Frenzel (joined in the video from his home office) and Florian Tschiedel carried out the upgrade of the backbone at the Vienna and Frankfurt sites. Everyone involved was continuously tested on Covid-19 throughout the entire period to ensure secure collaboration on site.
