With two million inhabitants, Kuala Lumpur is the capital of Malaysia and the administrative, cultural and economic center of the country. The metropolitan region around Kuala Lumpur generated a gross domestic product of 170 billion US dollars in 2014 with over 7 million inhabitants.
As a result of rapid industrial development, Malaysia has become one of the region’s emerging economies since the 1990s, becoming a modern, technology aware state with a young, consumer-minded population.
