Open source smart watch, mars rover or a bionic arm prosthesis: For the third time, the students of the HTL Mössingerstraße in Klagenfurt put their heads together and showed which technical ideas can be creatively implemented within a very short time. The Technicus Award 2023 of the alumni association honored the best projects of the students of the first to fourth year again.
This year’s theme of the Technicus Award, “Everything is Energy”, could not have been chosen better or more up to date. And so the students developed, among other things, solar blinds, a home power plant and a wood-burning bioelectricity generator. It was no easy task for the jurors Alexander Windbichler, Christian Smerietschnig and Michael Marketz to determine the winners. Incidentally, all three are also graduates of the HTL Mössingerstraße.
Love of creation at the Technicus Award
“I am always fascinated by the ambition of the students,” says Alexander Windbichler, CEO of Anexia. “The love of creation, the spirit at the Technicus Award is palpable,” adds Christian Smerietschnig of bigbgang. And Michael Marketz, CEO of Kärnten Netz, is already looking forward to the IT technicians of tomorrow.
And one thing is already certain: Next year, the students of HTL Mössingerstraße, which was named Carinthia’s most innovative school for the seventh time, will leave no stone unturned to convince the jury members of their exceptional project ideas at the Technicus Award.
