LLMOps for running AI applications
Changes to prompts or models are rolled out independently of the software version and cannot be reliably traced back when quality problems occur. With LLMOps, we offer you a versioned release process with quality checks, monitoring and a traceable return to an approved state.
Running models, prompts and knowledge states together
Our offering is aimed at platform and product teams with regularly changing models, prompts and knowledge sources. For companies in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, we plan AI operations automation on the basis of existing systems and the collaboration required.
In model operations, a production state is defined by more than a code commit. Model version, prompt templates, output schema, data index and approval rules can change behaviour together. We therefore determine which components must be released and tested together. A rollback should be able to restore not only the application code but also the matching configuration.
For LLM operations, we develop a change process with business evaluation and technical controls. A new state runs through agreed tasks, error cases and load tests. The release can initially be limited to a restricted group of users, provided the access and operating model support this. In LLMOps, costs, answer quality and latency are monitored together. Rising numbers of failed attempts, for example, can worsen both the user experience and spending. The responsible teams need understandable signals and a clear response path for this. This turns AI operations automation into a repeatable operational discipline in which changes can be introduced traceably, evaluated and withdrawn if necessary.
Scope of services for LLMOps
The agreed scope for model operations can include the following results: versioning scheme, evaluation pipeline, configuration registry, cost monitoring and fallback procedure. For each key result, we define what it is for, who reviews it and in what form it is handed over. This allows development, operations and procurement to assess the same service. Vague umbrella terms are replaced in the proposal by concrete work packages.
LLM operations also include coordinating the necessary interfaces with your team. We clarify access, contacts and available testing options before the relevant implementation steps. Changes to the scope are described together with their impact on effort and sequence. This gives you a clear overview of delivered results, outstanding prerequisites and additional requests.
The key technical decision in LLMOps
Code, prompt, model configuration and data index are treated as one jointly testable version, even though their technical lifecycles can differ. For AI operations automation, we document the relevant assumptions and explain the reasoning behind the chosen option. Key alternatives are assessed against the same business requirements. This makes later adjustments easier when load, data volumes or organisational responsibilities change.
A sound decision also takes maintainability and handover into account. For model operations, we assess which skills are available internally and what additional support is needed. This links technical possibilities to a realistic operating model. The client can see which tasks will recur after the project and which decisions remain with them.
What supports good decisions.

Understand technology. Take responsibility.
Forming one release from several versions
In an AI application, behaviour arises from several components. Application code, prompt, model parameters, tool definitions and knowledge index can be changed independently. We therefore describe which combination counts as an approved state.
- Data access before model selection
- Making business quality measurable
- Separating data and instructions
- Building in human review sensibly
- Versioning knowledge and configuration
- Information protection along the entire data path
Risks and acceptance in AI operations automation
An unchanged application can behave differently due to an external model change or modified knowledge data. We treat this point as a concrete test question in LLM operations. Each risk is linked to the affected process, its potential impact and a suitable measure. Where prerequisites are still missing, the statement explicitly remains open until the necessary investigation has been carried out.
We check quality regressions, budget overruns, model availability and the ability to restore previous configurations. For LLMOps, we record the starting point, the tested configuration and the result. Acceptance relates to the agreed scope. Open limitations are documented visibly and assigned to an owned next step. This allows your team to distinguish between proven functionality, a deliberate decision and an assumption that has not yet been confirmed.
Project example as an illustrative scenario
The following scenario is an illustrative example and not a customer reference. A company runs a knowledge assistant whose answers change unexpectedly after model and document changes. In LLMOps, the first step would be to make traceable which components contributed to a specific result. These would include the model version, prompt template, search configuration and approved knowledge base. Without this link, a fault would be difficult to reproduce.
For AI operations automation, the team would set up a controlled change path. A new model version would have to pass selected business tests before being released to the agreed group of users. The pilot would also test a return to the previous state. It would be necessary to check whether stored intermediate results and index states match the reset application. Operational monitoring would combine business error reports, response times and consumption without unnecessarily logging sensitive inputs in full.
Acceptance of model operations would include a change and rollback actually carried out. The planned results would be version mapping, release criteria, an operational overview and clear responsibilities for new error cases. A change should not count as an improvement simply because the model service is newer. The product team would need to be able to see which tasks work better, which limits remain and whether the additional quality justifies the resulting operating and review effort.
Our experience and our engineering approach
We combine custom software development with the technical tasks of introduction and further development. For AI operations automation, we bring the perspectives of application, integration and operations together in one shared workflow. Business requirements remain linked to the technical decisions. You work with a defined scope of services and traceable results.
Our experience should be concretely verifiable for your project. That is why we explain in a technical discussion how we investigate the relevant risks, which work results are planned and how your team can assess them. For model operations, we align the roles involved with your actual needs. Available references are presented with their respective project and company context; confidential client details are not used as general marketing claims.
Effort for model operations
Ongoing tests, retention of evidence, data synchronisation and reserve capacity influence operating costs. We therefore estimate LLMOps on the basis of a defined scope and explicitly stated prerequisites. An initial analysis step can be useful if essential technical information is still missing. Work packages and acceptance criteria can then be agreed more reliably.
AI operations automation can be organised as a limited project, as a joint implementation with your team or with subsequent support. Usage rights, access, documentation and responsibilities are clarified in the contract. Ongoing operating hours, response times and external consumption costs are covered by separate agreements. This keeps it clear which services are delivered once and which tasks recur after introduction.
Boundaries of LLMOps
The offering organises the technical lifecycle; business responsibility for permitted use cases remains explicitly assigned. For LLM operations, we record this boundary in the proposal itself. Any additional services required are included with their business justification and are not tacitly assumed. This allows your team to plan suitable internal skills and divide the overall work sensibly among those involved.
