Azure landing zone for orderly cloud use
Individual subscriptions are created independently of each other, so identities, networks, cost centres and security rules remain inconsistent. With the Azure landing zone, we offer you a traceable organisational and technical foundation for new workloads.
Build Azure foundations around responsibilities and protection requirements
Our offer is aimed at companies that want to use Azure in a controlled way across several teams or business units. For companies in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, we plan the Azure base architecture based on the existing systems and the collaboration required.
For Azure governance, we record the planned workloads and their organisational assignment. Subscriptions, resource groups and permissions should reflect traceable boundaries of responsibility. If they are created solely according to a short-term project structure, later division of operations and cost allocation can become unnecessarily difficult. Identity and central administration are therefore considered early on.
For the Azure deployment, we define network connections, logging and binding requirements for new resources. A policy must suit the intended service and allow traceable handling of justified exceptions. For the Azure landing zone, protection, budget responsibility and provisioning are reviewed together. A project team should be able to see which foundations are available and which decisions it has to make itself. The implementation is documented in a suitable automated state. A representative workload with the intended access and operational data serves as acceptance. In this way, the Azure base architecture creates a controlled starting point that supports later applications and takes existing company structures into account.
Scope of services for the Azure landing zone
The agreed scope for Azure governance can include the following deliverables: subscription structure, identity concept, network model, policies, logging and cost tagging. For each key deliverable, we define what it is for, who reviews it and in what form it is handed over. This allows development, operations and procurement to assess the same service. Vague umbrella terms in the offer are replaced by concrete work packages.
The Azure deployment also includes coordinating the necessary interfaces with your team. We clarify access, contacts and available testing options before the relevant implementation steps. Changes to the scope are described together with their impact on effort and sequence. This gives you a traceable overview of delivered results, prerequisites still outstanding and additional requests.
The key technical decision for the Azure landing zone
The organisational structure follows responsibility and isolation. An overly fine-grained division can make operations and cost transparency unnecessarily difficult. For the Azure base architecture, we document the relevant assumptions and explain the reasons for the chosen variant. Key alternatives are considered against the same business requirements. This makes later adjustments easier when load, data volume or organisational responsibility change.
A sound decision also takes maintainability and handover into account. For Azure governance, we check which skills are available internally and what additional support is needed. This links technical possibilities with a realistic operating model. The client can see which tasks will arise regularly after the project and which decisions remain with them.
What supports good decisions.

Security and sovereignty are not labels.
Risks and acceptance for the Azure base architecture
Central network or identity components can create dependencies for many applications and must be planned accordingly. In the Azure deployment, we treat this point as a concrete test question. A risk is linked to the affected process, its possible impact and a suitable measure. Where prerequisites are still missing, the statement is explicitly left open until the necessary investigation has taken place.
We check an exemplary deployment, role changes, required network paths and the assignment of resources to responsible teams. For the Azure landing zone, we record the initial situation, the tested configuration and the result. Acceptance relates to the agreed scope. Open limitations are documented visibly and assigned to a next step with a clear owner. This allows your team to distinguish between proven functionality, a deliberate decision and an assumption not yet confirmed.
Project example as an illustrative scenario
The following scenario is an example application, not a customer reference. Several business units want to build applications in a shared Azure environment. For the Azure landing zone, it would first be determined which units must be managed separately and which services are shared. Identities, network connections and cost responsibility would be just as relevant for this as technical deployment templates.
For the Azure base architecture, a pilot team would request a new application environment and take it all the way through to operational handover. Permitted locations, roles and connections would be checked against the actual requirements. A developer should be able to complete their tasks without automatically receiving far-reaching administrative rights. The trial would also include revoking a role, rejecting an impermissible deployment and allocating costs. Shared network or security services would need responsibilities and diagnostic paths that the application team can understand.
Acceptance of the Azure governance would show whether new environments are created according to the agreed rules and can be changed in a controlled way. Planned results would be a justified structure, versioned deployments and a defined onboarding process for further teams. A technically created account or resource hierarchy would not in itself be an operable foundation. What would matter is whether access, exceptions, incidents and costs can be handled traceably in day-to-day work without needing an unclear special route for every change.
Our experience and our engineering approach
We combine custom software development with the technical tasks of introduction and further development. For the Azure base architecture, we bring the perspectives of application, integration and operations together in a shared workflow. The business requirements remain connected to the technical decisions. You work with a defined scope of services and traceable results.
Our experience should become concretely verifiable for your project. That is why, in the technical exchange, we explain how we investigate the relevant risks, which deliverables are planned and how your team can assess them. For Azure governance, we align the roles involved with actual needs. Available references are presented with their specific project and company context; confidential customer details are not used as general advertising claims.
Effort for Azure governance
The existing tenant structure, network connectivity, compliance requirements and the number of independent areas influence the project scope. We therefore calculate the Azure landing zone based on a delimited scope and explicitly stated prerequisites. An initial analysis step can make sense if key technical information is still missing. After that, work packages and acceptance criteria can be agreed on a more reliable basis.
The Azure base architecture can be organised as a limited project, as a joint implementation with your team or with subsequent support. Rights of use, access, documentation and responsibilities are clarified in the contract. Ongoing operating hours, response times and external consumption costs are covered by separate agreements. This keeps it clear which services are provided once and which tasks arise regularly after introduction.
Boundaries of the Azure landing zone
The landing zone does not replace an application-specific architecture and security assessment. For the Azure deployment, we set out this boundary in the offer itself. Any additional services required are included with their business justification and are not silently assumed. This allows your team to plan suitable internal skills and divide the overall work sensibly between those involved.

Control comes from good architecture.
