Vulnerability management with traceable remediation
Alerts are collected, but duplicate entries, unclear responsibility and missing system context prevent reliable prioritisation. With vulnerability management, we offer you a manageable handling process that takes each finding through detection and on to verified closure.
Organising findings by affected services and ability to act
Our offering is aimed at security and operations managers with findings from several testing tools. For companies in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, we plan vulnerability management based on existing systems and the collaboration required.
For findings management, we bring existing sources of findings together into an actionable context. The same technical issue can appear in several tools. What matters is which production or developed services are affected and which team can make a change. Without this mapping, alert lists grow while important risks remain unaddressed.
In vulnerability handling, prioritisation and closure are explicitly defined. A measure can consist of an update, a configuration change, an additional protective measure or a justified, time-limited acceptance. For vulnerability management, every decision needs a traceable scope and, where applicable, a date for reassessment. The status "fixed" should be backed by suitable evidence. A closed task in the ticket system alone does not prove that the affected service has changed. Recurring causes are considered separately so that similar findings do not keep repeating. In this way, vulnerability management becomes a continuous work process with accountability, verifiable impact and visible open risks.
Scope of services for vulnerability management
The agreed scope for findings management can include the following results: asset mapping, normalisation of findings, prioritisation rules, ticket integration, deadline model and repeat testing. For each key result, we define what it is for, who reviews it and in what form it is handed over. This allows development, operations and procurement to assess the same service. Vague umbrella terms in the proposal are replaced by specific work packages.
Vulnerability handling also includes coordinating the necessary interfaces with your team. We clarify access, contacts and available testing options before the relevant implementation steps. Changes to the scope are described along with their impact on effort and sequence. This gives you a clear overview of delivered results, outstanding prerequisites and additional requests.
The key technical decision in vulnerability management
The assessment combines technical severity with reachability, business relevance and existing countermeasures. For vulnerability management, we document the relevant assumptions and justify the chosen option. Significant alternatives are considered against the same functional requirements. This makes later adjustments easier when load, data volume or organisational responsibility change.
A sound decision also takes maintainability and handover into account. In findings management, we examine which skills are available internally and what additional support is needed. This connects technical possibilities with a realistic operating model. The client can see which tasks will arise regularly after the project and which decisions remain with them.
What supports good decisions.

Impact, not promises.
Risks and acceptance in vulnerability management
Closing a ticket can reduce the visible inventory without the underlying vulnerability actually having been fixed. In vulnerability handling, we treat this point as a specific review question. A risk is linked to the affected process, its possible impact and a suitable measure. Where prerequisites are still missing, the statement remains explicitly open until the necessary investigation has taken place.
We check evidence of remediation, the age of critical findings, recurrence and the quality of owned risk exceptions. For vulnerability management, we record the initial situation, tested configuration and result. Acceptance refers to the agreed scope. Open limitations are clearly documented and assigned to an owned next step. This allows your team to distinguish between proven functionality, a deliberate decision and an assumption that has not yet been confirmed.
Project example as an illustrative scenario
The following scenario is a use case example and not a customer reference. A company collects findings from several scanners but cannot reliably track how they are handled. For vulnerability management, a limited set of applications would be selected. Duplicate alerts would be merged without losing differences between product versions and deployment environments. Every relevant alert would have to be assigned to a system with an actual owner.
For vulnerability management, prioritisation would combine technical severity with reachability, existing protective measures and business relevance. A pilot case would go through the entire path: assessment, correction, testing, delivery and evidence. A closed development ticket would not yet prove that the corrected version is running in production. Time-limited exceptions would receive a justification, an owner and a reassessment point. Missing system assignments would be handled as a separate problem and not filed away as supposedly resolved findings.
The impact of findings management would become visible in traceably reduced risks. Pure ticket counts could fall through merging or renaming and would therefore not be sufficient. The intended results would be a reliable handling process, clear system ownership and technical evidence of remediation. The company could then see which findings are actually closed, which deliberately remain open and where missing information or dependencies are still preventing a fix.
Our experience and our engineering approach
We combine custom software development with the technical tasks of introduction and further development. For vulnerability management, we bring the perspectives of application, integration and operations together in a shared workflow. The functional requirements remain connected to the technical decisions. You work with a defined scope of services and traceable results.
Our experience should become concretely verifiable for your project. That is why, in the technical exchange, we explain how we investigate the relevant risks, which work results are planned and how your team can assess them. For findings management, we align the roles involved with actual needs. Available references are put into context with their respective project and company relationship; confidential customer details are not used as general promotional statements.
Effort for findings management
Asset quality, the variety of tools and the ability to carry out planned updates determine the ongoing effort. We therefore calculate vulnerability management based on a defined scope and explicitly stated prerequisites. An initial analysis step can be useful if key technical information is still missing. Work packages and acceptance criteria can then be agreed on a more reliable basis.
Vulnerability management can be organised as a limited project, as a joint implementation with your team or with subsequent support. Rights of use, access, documentation and responsibilities are clarified in the contract. Ongoing operating hours, response times and external consumption costs are separate agreements. This makes it clear which services are provided once and which tasks arise regularly after go-live.
What vulnerability management does not include
The service is distinct from round-the-clock monitoring of active attacks; on-call availability and response are agreed separately. For vulnerability handling, we set out this boundary in the proposal. Required additional services are included with their functional justification and are not tacitly assumed. This allows your team to plan suitable internal skills and divide the overall work sensibly among those involved.
