CISPE elects Anexia CEO as the first Austrian to join the board.
PRESS RELEASE. CISPE, the leading European association for cloud providers, has Europeanized its. leadership structure.

Intro
For the first time, Austria is represented in Europe's most important cloud organization by Alexander Windbichler, CEO of Anexia.
CISPE (Cloud Infrastructure Services Providers in Europe) is restructuring with an entirely European leadership. The goal is to strengthen Europe's digital sovereignty and give cloud infrastructure providers more influence. This sends a strong signal for competition and independence from global tech corporations and geopolitical influence. With the election of Anexia CEO Alexander Windbichler, an Austrian is now represented on the CISPE board for the first time.
"We need to regain Europe's digital competitiveness."
The Austrian cloud provider Anexia has been a driving force for sustainable and sovereign cloud solutions in a European and global context for years. Windbichler sees his election to the board as confirmation of this commitment:
I am delighted to be part of the CISPE board from now on. CISPE has attracted attention in the recent past with its determined fight against Broadcom's competitive practices and the negotiations with Microsoft for fair market conditions - but this is just the tip of the iceberg. Europe's digital future must not be dictated by a few large global corporations. A strong, independent European cloud needs European leadership. This is exactly what CISPE is doing with its new management structure - and I am proud to be able to play an active role in shaping this development.
CISPE strengthens European cloud providers
With the new management structure, CISPE is increasingly focusing on multi-cloud and open source approaches, promoting data sovereignty and accelerating the transition to climate-neutral data centers. Anexia is contributing its expertise to this development in a targeted manner. The Austrian company is thus underlining the fact that fast-growing and innovative cloud providers are increasingly playing a key role in Europe's digital future.
