IT trends: the year of artificial intelligence

Among 42 experts, ITWelt.at also asked Alexander Windbichler, CEO of Anexia, about the most important IT topics for 2024. Security remains a perennial topic, fueled not least by the meteoric rise of artificial intelligence, which is the top IT trend for 2024 for all respondents.

The cloud also continues to be the focus of IT trends as a basic infrastructure – securing multi- or hybrid cloud environments is the order of the day here. The topic of digital sovereignty is also becoming increasingly important, as more and more companies are becoming increasingly dependent on large hyperscalers.

“Attacks on companies are at a record high and have already cost several companies their existence. Cybersecurity must be seamlessly integrated into your own digital landscape on the one hand, and on the other hand the topic must be brought to the attention of every person who comes into contact with technology in your own company, because over 90 percent of all successful attacks are still triggered by people in your own company.”
