Offline? No problem
A decisive advantage of single-page web applications is their use of the web storage function for permanently storing data. Thanks to this client-side storage after initial loading, a permanent connection to the server is no longer required. Single-page applications can thus also be used in offline mode.
Single-page applications (SPAs) or single-page web applications are made up of as few files as possible, known as bundles. When the web page is called up, only the content that is immediately needed is loaded once. Normally this initial loading takes a little longer than with classic websites, since the entire framework must be loaded. All further content is then loaded dynamically in the background as required.
SPAs are used primarily for sites with high visitor numbers, high levels of interactivity and for offline applications. The advantage is that thanks to the distribution of resources between the client and server, loading time optimization is achieved. Additionally, thanks to the initial, one-off load of all the data, one-pagers can also be used in offline mode.
An SPA offers many advantages over classic websites. At the same time, however, single-page applications are not recommended or beneficial in every situation. If your website is complex and wide-ranging, a classic (multi-page) structure is preferable. It is also worth remembering that search engine optimization for single-page applications is considerably more involved, since the bots of the search engines have difficulties with the indexing. As a result, the ranking of SPAs often tends to be somewhat lower.
