Linux Client Engineer (m/f/d)

You have technical expertise in Linux desktop, central software management, security standards, and a good understanding of company-wide IT infrastructure. You impress with your independent and structured way of working, team spirit, analytical thinking, and high service orientation.

#Profile

  • Definition, maintenance, and further development of the standardized Linux client based on Ubuntu
  • Integration and management of centralized applications (e.g., VPN clients, browsers, office tools, security tools)
  • Packaging, distribution, and updating of software (e.g., via Ansible, apt, shell)
  • Ensuring operating system updates, patching, and security configurations
  • Connection of the Linux client to our main infrastructure (e.g., LDAP, VPN, file shares, monitoring)
  • Generation of installation and configuration routines as well as support for rollouts
  • Technical documentation of the client platform and provision of self-service guides
  • Close cooperation with the CorpIT service desk to analyze and resolve client-side issues
  • Monitoring and optimization of stability, performance, and security of Linux clients

#Wanted

  • Completed education in IT and in-depth experience with Linux desktops, ideally Ubuntu in a corporate context

  • Experience with configuration management (e.g., Ansible), shell scripting, and package management
  • Familiarity with client-side security (e.g., encryption, updates, access protection)
  • Understanding of network concepts (VPN, DNS, DHCP) and authentication methods (LDAP, Kerberos)
  • Experience with Git, CI/CD workflows, or software distribution is an advantage
  • Good written and spoken German and English skills
