Manager Linux Operations (m/f/d)

The Linux Services Team is currently undergoing a phase of structural development. Processes, responsibilities and governance structues are being refined, services are being redefined and priorities are being reorganized. You have a background in Linux system administration, bring leadership experience and are looking for a new challenge. In this position, you will take responsibility for a large team, ensure the stable operation of our Linux services and at the same time drive organizational development, standards and continuous improvment within the team.

#Profile

  •  Lead and coordinate a team of Linux System Engineers (10+ people).

  •  You will guide the team through change, create structures and clarify roles, services and responsibilities. 

  • You will define goals and expectations and prioritize tasks with a business-focused mindset to ensure the sustainable and stable operation of the provided services.

  • You have a hands-on mentality, are a real problem solver and have enough technical depth to effectively manage incidents, security issues, maintenance windows and more.
  • Improve processes and workflows with a strong focus on quality and sustainable solutions.

  • You deliver reliable and timely KPI data, prepare decision-making bases and collaborate closely with other leaders on tactical plans and objectives.

  • Development of a transparent service catalog.
  • Mentoring and supporting the professional development of team members.

#Wanted

  • Experience in leading teams (e.g., as a Team Lead, Tech Lead, or Project Lead) and ideally in reorganization, turnaround situations or structural rebuilding.

  • Several years of solid Linux expertise.

  • Experience with service management processes (e.g., ITIL).
  • A structured working style, strong sense of ownership and a service- and customer-oriented mindset. 

  • High resilience and flexibility.

  • You communicate clearly, empathetically and situtation-appropriately, encourge a strong feedback culture and approach conflicts with de-escalation and solution orientation.
  • Very good German and good English skills.
